Parks and Reserves:
Guanacaste National Park

This 50-acre tropical forest managed by the Belize Audubon Society and offers a swimming deck, sheltered picnic areas, bird watching deck and over two miles of maintained trails.  It is also home to the guanacaste or tubroos tree is a fast growing species and one of the largest trees found in Central America.

Belize Zoo
The Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center was started in 1983, as an effort to provide a home for a collection of wild animals which had been used in making documentary films about tropical forests.  Nestled on 29 acres of tropical savanna, the zoo exhibits over 125 animals all native to Belize. The zoo keeps animals which were either orphaned, born at the zoo, rehabilitated animals, or sent to The Belize Zoo as gifts from other zoological institutions. Monkey Bay National Park and Private Reserve

Five Blues Lakes

Known as Five Blues Lake because of the varying water depths around the lake and the different limestone rock formations under water. Cahal Pech

Overlooking San Ignacio, Cahal Pech is a mid-sized complex settled around 1000 BC and abandoned by 800 AD. Xunantunich
The Mayan ruins site of Xunatunich, (or Maiden of the Rock), is located in northwestern Belize, in the Cayo District near the border with Guatemala, across the river from the village of San Jose Succotz.  This major ceremonial center was built upon a natural limestone ridge, providing a panoramic view of the Cayo District. The largest pyramid, El Castillo, rises to a height of 130 feet above the main plaza and a total of 250 feet above the river valley below.
